During my 2010 month-long photo trip to India, I spent a week in Bangalore, hosted by the Nightingales Medical Trust. Dr Priyamvada Muddapur and Dr Radha Murthy showed me the many aspects of their impressive programming, including the almost-completed Alzheimer's research, training, and care center, which earned Dr Radha a major award from Alzheimer's Disease International In March 2012. Some of the best photos in my book were taken at the Nightingale's day center for people with dementia.
Today's New York Times describes another Nightingales Trust program--a job fair to help seniors find paid employment to supplement their meager pensions. It is wonderful for me to see their efforts gain an international recognition so well deserved.
